A lot of people ask us how frequently most people have professional baby photography sessions for their babies. The truth is that your baby is growing so rapidly during the first year of their life that you should really do it quite frequently the first year. Where normally we would recommend once to twice a year for your older children, with babies we suggest having a professional baby photographer session: within the first 10 days of being born, at 3 months, at 6 months, at 9 months and at the one year mark.

To get the dreamy brand new baby portraits that everyone see of the tiny little baby sleeping inside of daddy’s hat, these photos typically happen during the first 10 days after birth. During the first 10 days after being born the baby photographer sessions are the best because the baby is still recovering from birth and is sleeping a great deal of the time. At the 3 month mark, your baby will have completely changed in size and often appearance slightly as your baby will have grown quite a bit.
