The deep attachment that this darling little boy and girl feel for this man, who the viewer can almost assume is their father is evident in this picture. Bakersfield children portraits are at its best in this picture. They are so happy to be near him. His son grabs for his pants and then he turns and looks at the camera, almost saying, “Yep, this is my Daddy!”

The little girl has quite a knowing smile on her face and rests her head against his side. Her hands are tucked just slightly in his pocket. It is obvious that this family is very close, and that both son and daughter love their father very much. This is such a darling family, and you don’t even need to see the father to know he must be a great guy. Just look at how the children hang on to him!

The fact that this picture is black and white gives it a nostalgic feel. It looks modern, yet very classic. It has a gentle feel to it that people can relate to. The picture is also nicely tied together by what all three of them are wearing. They are all dressed in darkly colored tops that coordinate well together.
